Taking Away Satan's Toys

“When the truth doesn’t feel true is when we begin to believe it isn’t. Satan’s biggest, most effective weapon against good girls may not be lust or slander or adultery or addiction. It is forgetfulness. Emily Freeman “Grace for the Good Girl: Letting Go of the Try-Hard Life.”

Satan really has a good trick he uses on us doesn’t he? Indeed the trick of trying to get us to believe a bunch of lies rather than trust in even one truth. He plants doubt in our minds and hearts. We become like Eve did when she doubted what God told them in the garden. All it took from the serpent was a simple, “Did God really say that?” and the seed of doubt was planted.

We need to take away Satan’s weapon, take away his toys, the things he likes to use to get at us. Such as the tool of forgetfulness or the inability sometimes to forget what needs to be forgotten and remember what needs to be treasured. Believe it or not we would rather store up the negative instead of holding on to the positive.

We have no problem taking away a toy from our children when they are miss using it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to go to bed with such toys at my side. Each one safely stored to prevent the grandkids from using them to beat each other over the head with them in the middle of the night. However, when it comes to taking such things away from ourselves or Satan we hesitate to do it. Why?

Truth is every one of us finds it easier to tell someone else what they need to do or not do but it becomes difficult for us. For some reason we think we have the right to hang on to things, to store the bad in our hearts for future references.

No we need to act now not later in taking away the toy of Satan, the one he will use to beat us over the head with in the middle of the night. The time is now for God’s grace to replace the doubts Satan wants in our hearts and minds. By acting now and not later we can save ourselves years of heartache and pain. It’s time to take our medicine for the headache created by Satan beating us over the head. The medicine of God’s love and grace and the ability to forgive and forget and move forward! Praise the Lord

Amen, amen, and AMEN! We're falling for Satan's trap. Time to set our minds to things above and be steadfast in our belief in the faithfulness of God. You got it, sister!
