Tag, God's It

This is my Father’s World. O let me ne’er forget that though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet. This is my Father’s world: why should my heart be sad? The Lord is King; let the heavens ring! God reigns: let the earth be glad! Verse 3 of the hymn, “This is my Father’s World” by Maltbie D. Babcock

Everywhere you turn there are labels giving credit to who made what. Everything we purchase comes with a tag giving credit where credit is due. Names of areas all over the world printed in black stating, “Made in the USA, China, Korea, Italy, France, Japan, and many more.” I don’t know about the other 49 states but in Oregon we even have stores that sell products that are “Made in Oregon.” Sales and purchases worldwide are often made strictly on where it was made due to quality, preference, and taste.

The world in which we live comes with labels too that tell us where it was made. They are there for us to read as we look out over the sunrise and see its magnificence colors, touch the starfish, breathe the aroma of a rose, watch the breeze blow the trees. Unfortunately we are too quick to cut the tag off that shows it was handcrafted by God Himself and replace it with something that gives credit to Mother Nature instead.

No matter how crazy the world seems to get it’s important that we remain focused on the truth that this remains our Heavenly Father’s world. It's not ours to give away via carelessness and bad behavior and twisted values. In Deu 10:14 (NKJV) it says, “Indeed heaven and the highest heavens belong to the Lord your God, also the earth with all that is in it.”

We can do what we want, give credit to the Big Bang theory or anything else but it will never change the fact that the earth belongs to God. It has His label on it, His craftsmanship, His expertise, quality, preference, and taste. God didn’t lose it in a card game or gamble it away to the highest bidder. Nor did He, from some planet factory, make the earth only to send us off into orbit in a slingshot to fend for ourselves.

God is still very much in control. The fact that He is still in charge should make the inhabitants of earth tremble. At the simple sound of His voice He could shut the world down in one breath. He doesn’t have His index finger pulled back with His thumb ready to pop us out of orbit to send us on another trip. No, His hand is open wide, palm up, and extended out in an invitation for all who choose to accept.

Today we usher into office another President in the United States, another moment in history that leads to many more and it all began with God’s creation and that is where it eventually will end. God rules, He reigns, He lives. May we never lose sight of the tag with His name on it that states, “Handcrafted by God. Handheld by Jesus.”

Praise you Father God, praise you. This is our Father’s world! Tag....You're it, You're the one and we are glad!

Precious post! I especially loved this, "No matter how crazy the world seems to get it’s important that we remain focused on the truth that this remains our Heavenly Father’s world. It's not ours to give away via carelessness and bad behavior and twisted values. I very much like your take on this quote. Never though of it quite like this. BUT YES! Everything that is in the world was made by him and without him NOTHING was made. It is indeed "my Father's world."

Yes; no matter what...God is the main thing, the Originator, Creator, Source, Power above all Power and Authority

Love this; particularly in this world we've been handed today.
